Who we are and
why we do this work

We did not start with funding, a board of directors or a brand strategy. We started with a problem we could not ignore — and people who refused to walk past it.

Elderly women at our shelter

The work began before
there was a name for it

In 2006, a group of individuals in South West Delhi began doing something quietly — feeding elderly residents who had no one to cook for them, finding shelter for widows turned out of their homes after their husbands died, and getting injured animals off the street when no one else would.

There was no NGO. No registration. Just people who understood that dignity does not expire when someone grows old, loses a spouse, or was born without a family.

Over time, the work grew. The registrations followed — NITI Aayog, NGO Darpan, the trust deed. But the work itself has never changed. We serve. Every day. No exceptions.

Today, Preet Singh Arya Dadi India Anath Ashram Foundation runs a shelter for orphaned children, elderly citizens and widows — while simultaneously running animal rescue operations across Delhi. We are funded by donors like you. We are run by volunteers. We are accountable to the people we serve.

What Guides Us

Mission. Vision. Values.

Our Mission

To serve without asking whether someone deserves it

Our mission is to uplift and care for orphaned children, abandoned elderly, widowed women and voiceless animals — regardless of religion, caste, background or circumstance. We provide the essentials of a dignified life: shelter, food, medical care, education and legal support.

Our Vision

A Delhi where no one dies alone on the street

We envision communities where elderly people age with dignity, widows rebuild with confidence, children learn without fear, and animals live without cruelty. Not a utopia — a standard. One we will keep working toward as long as the work needs doing.

Our Promise

Transparency in everything we do

Every document we have — our trust deed, NITI Aayog certificate, NGO Darpan registration — is publicly available. Every donation is tracked. Every donor receives a receipt. We believe accountability is not a bureaucratic requirement; it is a basic form of respect for the people who fund our work.

Six principles that
do not bend

01

Compassion Without Conditions

We do not ask someone to prove they deserve care. If they need it, we provide it. That is the only criteria that has ever mattered here.

02

Dignity as a Non-Negotiable

Every person in our care is treated with the same respect we would want for our own family. Age, circumstances and background do not change that.

03

Full Transparency

Our registration documents are public. Our donation records are tracked. We do not ask you to trust us blindly — we show you the proof.

04

Empowerment Over Dependency

We give widows vocational training, not just handouts. We teach children, not just feed them. The goal is always independence, not permanent reliance on charity.

05

Voice for the Voiceless

Animals cannot call a helpline. Children cannot hire a lawyer. Widows are often ignored in legal proceedings. We show up in those gaps.

06

Ground-Level, Not Top-Down

Our work happens on the street, in the shelter, in the court and at the hospital — not in air-conditioned offices writing reports about what should be done.
